Modified buses for aged roll in

SET to transform the lives of residents using the service, Bankstown Canterbury Community Transport (BCCT) is launching two special transport vehicles.

The two deluxe Toyota Commuters have been modified with additional steps, a wheelchair hoist, grab rails and raised seats to make it easier for clients to enter and exit, and to sit down or stand up.
BCCT drivers have welcomed the latest vehicles, which are both fitted with front and rear dashcams and GPS tracking.
New vehicle wraps will help them stand out on the road, making it easier for clients to identify them.
Notable acts of generosity are behind the new modified deluxe Toyota Commuters, according to BCCT CEO Rachel Thompson said.
“We are thankful to the Department of Community and Justice for the Community Building Partnerships Grant and to a former client who made a bequeath to BCCT – their generous funding allowed us to purchase the vehicles,” she said.
The Toyota Commuters will join the BCCT’s fleet of 20 vehicles and are also available for hire on weekends for other community and sports groups.
Residents can find out more information about BCCT services via bcct.org.au or phone 9772 4928.
