Miss World entrant raising funds to help improve life of sick child

YAGOONA’S Anne Dao will compete in Miss World Australia 2020 State finals on March 22.

A Vietnamese Australian and Purple Ribbon Movement Ambassador for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Anne works as a conference reporter and MC for business, technology and culture.
She said: “There are lots of ways to let your humanitarian light shine. Entering Miss World is one way.
“I’ve travelled and worked interstate and overseas in the USA and growing up in the multicultural community of Canterbury Bankstown has really helped me with my career growth.
“It’s taught me how to be accepting and open towards the differences that we all embody.”
The Miss World Organisation founded the Beauty with a Purpose movement more than 35 years ago, which focuses on encouraging women around the world to live a compassionate and humanitarian life.
Miss World has raised over a billion dollars globally for their Beauty with a Purpose program.
All Miss World contestants take part in the Beauty with a Purpose program, and fundraise for Variety, a children’s charity that aims to improve the lives of sick, disadvantaged and disabled children across Australia.
In 2019, Miss World Australia contestants were able to raise over $180,000 for Variety. The 2020 Miss World Australia will be crowned in July on the Gold Coast.
