Milperra to Hurlstone Park clearway to help

MOTORISTS are enjoying smoother and more reliable journeys on Milperra and Canterbury roads with new and extended clearways.

Transport for NSW Executive Director Sydney, John Hardwick, said the clearways began operating this week in both directions from Henry Lawson Drive at Milperra, to New Canterbury Road at Hurlstone Park.
“The clearways will help reduce daily travel times for around 59,000 vehicles along Milperra Road and 47,000 vehicles on Canterbury Road,” Mr Hardwick said.
“Stretching from Milperra to Hurlstone Park, the clearways will help tackle congestion through the suburbs of Punchbowl, Campsie and Canterbury.”
The clearways will be operational from 6am to 7pm on weekdays and from 9am to 6pm on weekends and public holidays, making an additional lane available to traffic during these times.
To support local business customers at the Canterbury Town Centre, road users can continue to park on Milperra and Canterbury roads after 7pm on weekdays and 6pm on weekends and public holidays.
Mr Hardwick said Transport for NSW would continue to work with Canterbury Bankstown Council on alternative short-term parking options for business customers of the Canterbury shopping strip.
