Million Paws Walk to fight animal cruelty

MORE than 8,000 people and their 6,000 dogs joined in the silver jubilee of Australia’s biggest doggy day out, RSPCA’s Million Paws Walk at Sydney Olympic Park.

The walk raises funds and awareness to help end animal cruelty.

RSPCA NSW needs at least $1 million a week to keep its shelters operating and inspectors on the road investigating cruelty cases. Less than two per cent of funding comes from government.

“Over 34,000 animals turn to RSPCA NSW for help every year and we can continue to care for them when they need us most because of our generous supporters,” says RSPCA NSW Acting Community Fundraising Manager Danielle Cameron.
