It’s owned and operated by licensees Tony and Mina Favotto who joined McDonald’s as crew members over 43 years ago and now employ over 1,000 members across five restaurants – Lakemba, Menai, Milperra, Padstow and Punchbowl.
They became McDonald’s Punchbowl licensees in 2001 and have over 165 employees at the site across crew, barista, management and maintenance roles.
Tony said they were very proud to celebrate 50 years of serving up great tasting food as well as becoming the first McDonald’s restaurant with halal menu options over 23 years ago.
“McDonald’s Punchbowl has provided thousands of jobs, training and development opportunities to members of the Canterbury Bankstown community over the past five decades, as well as supporting local causes and groups that are important to our customers and people, including Canterbury Bankstown Tennis Association and Ronald McDonald House Charities,” he said.
“We are grateful for the ongoing support of our staff and customers, and look forward to celebrating this milestone with them.”
Breakfast Manager Marilou Legaspi has been with McDonald’s Punchbowl for over 24 years and has worked alongside her two sons and nephew over the years.
“Macca’s is not just a workplace to me, it is also my second home and family, with incredible employers like Tony and Mina who have been so supportive throughout my career,” she said.
Inviting the community to celebrate its 50th milestone, McDonald’s Punchbowl will host an event from 12-5pm this Saturday, August 10, with an appearance from Ronald McDonald, balloon twisting and face painting, as well as a free Big Mac with any order.
