Must stay home unless essential and limit movement

CANTERBURY Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour has appealed to the community to stay at home, after NSW Health listed Canterbury Bankstown as an area of concern.
The Mayor was contacted by Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant and Health Minister Brad Hazzard, who expressed concerns about increasing case numbers in and around Canterbury Bankstown.
“My message to our community is simple … please stay at home unless it is essential and limit your movements,” he said.
“I have family and relatives that I would like to visit, in fact my mother is in hospital and my father is at home – and I can’t visit either.
“So please, stay at home and keep, not only your loved ones safe, but the entire community.
“This issue is not just an issue in our area, there appears to be complacency across the entire metropolitan area. Just look at the images from Bondi at the weekend and the St George rugby league team debacle. Police are fining people across all local government areas.”
