The Tower Street centre first opened its doors in 1970 and has been responsible for setting up thousands of preschoolers for life.
A family-operated business, staff pride themselves on delivering high quality care and strive towards providing a welcoming, safe, supportive and homely learning environment for all children aged from two to five years, and their families.
Centre Director Beth Streatfeild said educators worked toward developing a strong understanding of each child’s cultural background, home-life and learning needs.
“The pre-school’s team of educators are experienced, professional, enthusiastic and dedicated to their role,” she said.
Beth said they only offered 36 places for children and as such, were able to provide one-on-one care and get to know each child and their families a lot better than in a larger service.
“It’s a fantastic place to work,” she said.
“We all love it here.”
Beth’s 2IC, Calinda Kirochne, agrees: “From the first day I set foot in here, I knew this was where I wanted to be, there’s such a lovely vibe here.”
One of the many success stories who remembers the centre fondly, Calinda’s husband David attended the centre in the early 1970s, along with his two siblings.
Now 52 and a senior constable, he was all for his wife taking a job there.
“He has such happy memories of the centre, even after all of these years,” she said.
Some places are still available for 2022; for more info, call Beth on 9771 3461.
Marks 52nd anniversary after setting up thousands of preschoolers for life
ITS 50th anniversary went by without any fanfare two years ago over Covid concerns but Panania Pre-School Kindergarten staff are hoping to have a belated celebration this year.
