Mayor Khal Asfour says that with more than 588 parks to visit, it can be difficult to know which ones to explore first.
“The digital map is an easy way to find parks, nature trails, bike paths, dog parks, murals and public art, playgrounds and other facilities such as barbecues, amenities and seating,” he said.
“There is also an option enabling you to zoom in on the map and hover over one of the pins, with photo of the park popping up, with its name and location.
“Alternatively, you can scroll down the list to find the park you’re looking for. Beside each name is a legend that tells you what types of facilities and amenities the park has.”
Mayor Asfour says the map will be particularly useful for people with disability.
“The map enables families and carers to see which parks have an all-abilities playground and equipment, sensory gardens, all-abilities amenities and disability facilities,” he said.
“This is just another way we are becoming smarter in presenting information as part of our Smart City journey.
