Shortly before 10pm, police were called to Antwerp Street, Auburn, following reports shots had been fired into a home during a domestic incident. They were told a man, known to the occupants, had attempted to gain entry to the home before firing a shot.
Police said a 50-year-old woman and her two children were seeking refuge at her parents home in Antwerp Street as part of planning the separation from her husband.
When the 50-year-old turned up at the home, he smashed the front window and forced the door open but didn’t enter. He then pointed a gun at a man in his 70s, the father of the woman, and fired but it didn’t operate. He then turned it towards the woman aged in her 70s and a shot was discharged but didn’t hit anyone.
After leaving the property, the man attempted to carjack a 56-year-old woman but she didn’t stop. Soon after he attempted another carjacking on Mona Street, where a man in his mid 50s, who at the time had his 15-year-old daughter in the front passenger seat, who shot through the driver’s window. He is in a serious but stable condition.
A firearm was also located at the scene and seized for forensic examination.
During an extensive search of the area, the man’s body was located in Duck Creek, Auburn, shortly after 2.15am the next morning.

A MAN’S body was located by police investigating two shootings and two carjackings in a domestic violence-related attack in Auburn last Tuesday night.
