Man robbed 79-year-old woman

POLICE are appealing for information after a woman was allegedly assaulted in Belmore earlier this month.

A 79-year-old woman was walking along Leyland Parade about 11.40am on Friday (July 12) when she was allegedly approached from behind by a man, who grabbed a gold chain she was wearing and snatched it off her neck.
The chain broke in half and the man took half of it along with a crucifix the woman was wearing, before fleeing down Marie Reserve toward Marie Street.
Police would like to speak to a man who may assist with their inquiries.
He is aged in his 30s, with olive skin, a skinny build, thick curly hair and had a moustache. He was last seen wearing a dark blue jumper with a white “Nautica” motif at the front, dark tracksuit pants and black joggers.
