Shortly after 7.30pm, police were called to a unit complex in Richmond Avenue, following reports of a domestic related incident.
Police arrested a 32-year-old man in nearby South Parade before attending the unit where a man, believed to be aged in his 50s, was found suffering head injuries, and despite the efforts paramedics, died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.
The 32-year-old was charged with murder.
