Bankstown Police have been told a 36-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were at a home in Ivy Street, Greenacre, about 9am, when an argument began.
Police will allege the man then hit the woman multiple times to her face, head and body and when she tried to leave with her eight-month-old son, was forced into the man’s car.
Police said the woman tried to escape from the vehicle twice – including once on Glassop Street at Yagoona – calling on passers-by to help her before she was forced back into the car. She was then driven to her home in Sadlier and the man then left.
The man was arrested at Greenacre later that night and charged with take/detain a person with intent to obtain advantage (DV), common assault and contravene prohibition/restriction in apprehended violence order (Domestic). His car was towed for forensic examination.
Teen doing double the speed limit
A TEENAGER has been fined more than $2,000 and is without a driver’s licence for six months after he was caught allegedly speeding in Greenacre.
Last Sunday about 8pm, police stopped a black Audi Q7 travelling north on Roberts Road, Greenacre, after its speed was clocked at 143km/h – more than double the 70km/h signposted limit.
The 19-year-old man, who is a P1 provisional licence holder, was spoken to by officers and then issued an infringement for the offence of exceeding speed limit over 45km/h.
His licence was also suspended on the spot for six months.
The car’s registration plates were not confiscated as the man was not the owner of the vehicle.
