Man arrested over brazen kidnap

A MAN from Auburn was among four charged with the alleged kidnapping of man in broad daylight at Manly on Sunday morning.

About 9.30am, police were called to Oyama Avenue, Manly, following reports of an assault.
It’s alleged the group left the area in a Toyota Hilux, which police attempted to stop on Warringah Road at Forestville, and when the driver failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.
Road spikes were deployed and when the vehicle eventually stopped, five men were found inside, including an injured man who was taken to hospital. He has since been released from hospital.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad are assisting with investigations.
A 24-year-old from Auburn, and three others aged 19, 24 and 25, were charged with Kidnap in company with intent serious indictable occasion – actual bodily harm, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence, and affray.
The other 24-year-old, a man from Sefton, was also been charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly, and use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention.
