This year, the Flower Power is all about how you can power cancer research, to get us closer to a cancer free future – an Australian is diagnosed with cancer every four minutes.
Money raised will provide more than hope to people affected by cancer, it will fund vital cancer research that is saving lives every day.
This year, you can host a fundraiser online and get as creative as you like – think quizzes, morning teas, baking competitions, karaoke nights, garage sales, yellow-themed zoom dinner parties or video game challenges – the possibilities are endless.
Why not hold a ‘Dress Yellow’ day at your workplace, or even run a yellow-themed dress-up competition online and ask those taking part for a donation.
You can also raise money in exchange for poems, songs, crafts, paintings, drawings or whatever you can turn your hand to and send them online.
Or you might prefer to play the daffodil guessing game which the Cancer Council will send you when you register as a fundraiser.
Get your friends, family and wider networks to take part for a suggested donation of $5.
Working from home?
Instead of socialising with your colleagues after work, get together for a video chat and donate what you would otherwise have spent; you could even add in the commuting costs.
