Magpies zoom into final

A STRONG win 60-35 over Sydney Uni on Saturday, has seen Inner West Magpies Masters side advance into the grand final.

Jeffrey Morgan was named best on ground, followed by Arron Convery (kicking seven of the nine goals), Ali Latife, Wayne Wilson, David Clout and Christopher Heather.
Next up for the Magpies, the Reserves had a tough day against Sydney Uni and finished with a 119-21 loss. Daniel Lawrence was best, followed by Simon Stephens, Rory Johnson, Hugh MacArthur, Tim Lambert and Robert Bamford.
The Magpies Premier side was up next. While holding the lead the first and only slipping four points behind heading into the half time break, the Uni side extended their lead in the second half to take the game 99-55.
Patrick Wilmot was best, followed by Matthew Belbasis, Daniel O’Connell, Jock White, Ben Zoppo and Tyler Blake.
The Ladies Premier division side, sitting on sixth on the ladder, faced off against the top three Sydney Bombers side.
The Uni side came out strong, kicking two goals to steal the first quarter, but the Magpies dug deep to have the Uni side only nine points ahead going into the final quarter.
With a lucky bounce the Bombers side where able to steal a goal early, finishing up 53-21. Best on was awarded to Kate Lawson, followed by Amelia Causley-Todd, Madeline Convery, Melissa Freckelton, Tayliya Kennedy and Lael Kassem.
The Under 19s Div 2 side won after Penrith Rams forfeited.
