They are just some of the exciting activities for kids aged 5-18 years in City of Canterbury Bankstown’s Winter School Holiday Program, July 8-19.
Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said there’s no longer an excuse to stay at home these winter holidays.
“Our school holiday activities are the perfect remedy to beat the winter blues,” he said.
“We don’t want any kid to miss out on having fun. That’s why a number of our activities are free and low cost and within reach of the family budget.
“With our huge range of offerings, there’s something for all kids no matter their interests.”
Sporting enthusiasts can shoot goals in a netball clinic with Netball NSW, finesse their football skills in an introductory holiday program with Football Australia or test out their flexibility and strength at a gymnastics session.
For the craftier kids, there’s clay classes, an animation workshop, a landscape drawing class and a graffiti ceramic art workshop.
And the whole family can come together over a game of bingo or a movie session at one of the council’s Library and Knowledge Centres.
Mayor El-Hayek also encouraged parents to enrol their children in the intensive swim school holiday program.
“It’s a great opportunity for children to get swimming lessons and improve their skills quickly,” he said.
