The festival will run from Wednesday, February 11 to Sunday, February 23, and recognises the important role seniors play in society as well as the contributions they make.

The highlight event is the Inner West Seniors Festival celebration at Addison Road Community Centre’s Gumbramorra Hall on Wednesday, February 19, 10am-2pm, showcasing cultural performances, creative and wellbeing activities. Engage in forums, share culture, conversation and cuisine. All welcome.
Other events include:
• Raunchy romance, Marrickville Library and Pavilion, Tuesday, February 11, 6.30-7.30pm. Explore the world of romance and erotica at this adult story time.
• Aquatic centres with free entry. Experience everything the aquatic centres have to offer: pools, gym and group fitness classes with presentation of a valid seniors card at Fanny Durack Aquatic Centre, February 18-23; and Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre, February 18-23.
• Line Dancing Social, Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, Friday, February 14, 1-3pm. An afternoon of fun, dancing and connection. Free lunch provided
• Lunar New Year celebrations, Ashfield Town Hall, Saturday, February 15, 11.30am-4pm. Bring in the Year of the Rat with free performances, activities and spectacular lion dances.
• Free golf class, Marrickville Golf Club, Monday, February 17, 10am-noon. Enjoy an introduction to golf class with Marrickville Golf Club’s resident professional, Kylie Moulds. All equipment provided
• Seniors Get Active Day, Camperdown Park, Tuesday, February 18: Yoga in the Park, 8-9am; stretch the possibilities at a free yoga class, wear comfortable clothes. Tai Chi, 9-10am; de-stress, increase energy levels and improve balance with instructor Master Alex Galvan. Train in the outdoor gym, 9.30-11.30am; a tailored session on how to correctly use the outdoor fitness equipment. Zumba Gold Party, 10-11am; Zumba Gold is a modified form of the fun moves of Zumba at a lower intensity.
• Have a crack at croquet, Marrickville Croquet Club, Wednesday, February 19, 10am-noon; learn croquet, make new friends, bring flat shoes and a hat. Equipment and refreshments provided.
