With his original music capturing the hearts of millions worldwide, the 24-year-old’s talent was evident at an early age when he began penning rap lyrics while growing up with a turbulent family life.
At 11, he found himself homeless with his twin brother, sleeping next to bakeries for warmth and shuffling between foster homes and refuges.
His passion for music became his salvation and he would throw on his headphones to escape from the outside world and write rap lyrics in pursuit of his dream to inspire young people through his story.
Since then he’s gone onto release numerous hit singles including the inspired ‘Concrete Pillow feat. Alli Simpson’ where he talks about his upbringing, amassing over 1.75 million views online.
In 2019, D Minor made the semi-finals of Australia’s Got Talent, performing ‘Concrete Pillow’ where he received a standing ovation.
His mentorships and ambassador roles are numerous; he has worked with Universal Music Australia on a youth campaign and is a youth programs facilitator, mentor and ambassador for Musicians Making A Difference.
He said he was excited to be invited back to take part in the local Australia Day celebrations after last year’s success.
“It was a great moment last year and it’s extra special for me seeing as I grew up in the area,” he said.
