Local Business Awards Canterbury Bankstown

HUNDREDS of Canterbury Bankstown businesses have been celebrating after learning that they are among the finalists in this year’s Local Business Awards.

Precedent Productions Managing Director and Awards founder Steve Loe said an unprecedented number of nominations were received this year.
“The local community’s response to this year’s awards launch has been incredible,” he said.
“It just goes to show the enormous respect that they have for the small businesses that serve the Canterbury Bankstown community.”
Finalists have been notified of their success and now the next step – judging – is underway.
Independent (and anonymous) judges have been visiting each finalist where possible to assess them based on criteria from a customer’s perspective – business presentation, products, value for money and customer service.
Finalists can also submit extra information about their business that is not obvious to a customer, such as staff training and motivation, community engagement and environmental sustainability.
Websites, social media accounts and online customer reviews are also considered by the judges.
This year’s category winners will be announced at the Canterbury Bankstown Local Business Awards presentation evening on Wednesday, September 14, at Revesby Workers’ Club.
Mr Loe says the presentation evening will feature wonderful entertainment, and local dignitaries will be there to lend their support, “but the real stars of the show are the finalists and winners”.
“The awards evening is always a glittering event, where our finalists dress up and let their hair down for an evening of entertainment, good food, relaxed conversation – and, of course, celebration,” he said.
“Just being there as a finalist is a huge achievement, and it is a great opportunity for business people and their teams to reflect on their successes with a fun night out.”
The Canterbury Bankstown Local Business Awards is only possible thanks to the support of major partners Canterbury Bankstown Council, NOVA Employment and Bankstown Central and support partner White Key Marketing.
“Their support of the Local Business Awards reflects their ongoing commitment to local business in the area and is essential in the running of the program,” Mr Loe said.
