The City of Canterbury Bankstown has created a school holiday program to give young people, parents and families a chance to have a memorable summer holiday without having to travel far or break the bank.
“We’re putting on heaps of local activities to make sure every child has something to do that interests them. From fun day trips to an aqua water park or Cronulla Beach for surfing lessons, to photography skill sessions and open days that feature a food truck and dessert van – we’ve got you covered,” Mayor Khal Asfour said
“We’re even helping to organise transport and meals for some of our activities so the only thing you need to worry about is having a fun and carefree time.”
There will also be opportunities to learn how to code a robot, learn a new musical instrument, enjoy craft activities or even be introduced to Australian animals, as Taronga Zoo brings the zoo to local libraries.
Other school holiday activities include: A cultural bushwalk and swim; Kayaking and a barbecue at a national park; Safer drivers’ course that adds 20 hours to logbooks; Oztag tournament; Movie marathon; Colouring-in competitions; Swim school lessons; Scavenger Hunts; and Story times.
