Live and Local family-friendly event offering live music, great food, drink

MERRYLANDS Civic Square will come alive with song, dance and great cuisine and drink as part of ’Cumberland Live and Local’ this Friday night.

Hosted by the council, the free family-friendly event will feature leading local musicians and food and beverage treats, giving you the chance to relax, chill and enjoy the sounds of summer.
The ultimate crowd-pleasing band, Cobalt Blues, will take you on a journey through all the funk, soul, blues and rock classics of the last few decades ahead of Merrylands singer Anton Aktila who can’t wait to light up the stage,
Specialising in Top 40 anthems as well as R&B, pop, rock and ballads, he said it would be extra special for him to get his local community up on their feet and dancing.
“It’s such a great community in Merrylands, everyone is so diverse, interesting and nice and I love the upgraded Civic Square, it’s beautiful, it will be a pleasure to perform here,” he said.
If you’ve been craving a high-quality, succulent burger, you will definitely be in luck on the night with Juicy Burgers Lidcombe preparing to cook up all of your favourite offerings.
Washing it down is no problem either with Barista of the Caribbean on hand to brew up possibly one of the best coffees you’ve ever had or to add to your Friday night enjoyment, mobile bar wizards Kombi Keg won’t be too far away.
Grab yourself a crisp, cold beer or something fancier like a cocktail or cider from this retro-cool Kombi – a groovy 1970s gem decked out with six frosty taps on the side.
“We’ll be serving up a storm to quench every thirst,” Kombi’s Kaycie said.
“Don’t miss out on this rad experience.”
Cumberland Live and Local is on offer this Friday, February 23, 6-9pm.
