Little Athlete join ‘record’

WITH winter sports coming to an end, now is the perfect time to register for Revesby Workers’ Little Athletics Centre (RWLAC) still basking in the success of the previous season which saw many personal bests and record numbers qualifying for regional and state championships.

A great way to stay fit during summer, the club will be hoping to have about 400 athletes, from under 6s to under 17s, registered in time for the start of the season on September 1.
RWLAC’s Stuart McGraw said they had an amazing response in the two weeks since registrations opened on August 1 and already had 363 signed up.
“Our registrars are getting busy putting rego packs together in preparation for our rego pick up nights on August 18 and 25,” he said.
“We are a centre focused on family, fun and fitness and encourage all our athletes to do their best each and every week.”
After many years running the Friday night competition at the University of Western Sydney grounds in Milperra, RWLAC made the move last season to new facilities at Kelso North Sporting Grounds, Henry Lawson Drive, Panania.
They get underway at 6.30pm and finish around 8.30-9pm; younger age groups finish earlier.
“It’s the perfect foundation for all other sports and will help them in everything else they do,” Stuart said.
