Life’s circus but helps if you can juggle

SO you want to join the circus – but did you know circus arts are so much more than cartwheels and handstands?

A unique blend of art and sport, circus skills are developed in a supportive and non-competitive environment.
Offering classes for the young and old of all abilities, Canterbury-based Aerialize has been a fixture in the Sydney contemporary circus sector for over 20 years.
It produces high quality performances and offers fun, dynamic, challenging and safe classes in circus and aerial arts.
Aerialize is also one of the most well established and respected circus and aerial training institutions in Australia, according to administrator Aslam Abdus-Samad.
“We specialise in a wide range of aerial and circus training like Static Trapeze, Silks or Tissu, Lyra, Straps, Acrobalance, Acrobatics, Hula Hoops, Juggling, Chinese Pole, Contortion, Flexibility and much more,” he said.
“Our instructors are industry professionals who have worked internationally for organisations such as Cirque du Soleil and we have a lot of participants that have migrated here from gymnastics but that is certainly not a prerequisite.
“There is nothing like it for improving physical strength and fitness and the social aspects are beneficial too.
“A lot of people come here with friends or make new friends in our fun environment.”
With school holiday sessions and Sunday birthday party options onsite, Aerialise is not-for-profit and a registered charity offering classes for students most days from 4pm and for adults from 6pm.
