Lidcombe girls undefeated

UNCOMPROMISING all day and showing plenty of skill and determination, the Lidcombe Public School (LPS) Girls team have won last month’s Bulldogs Girls 7s Rugby League Knockout.

Win Bulldogs Girls 7s Knockout thriller

Playing three games on clear but crisp winter’s day at the Crest in Bass Hill, the Lidcombe girls made it through undefeated, beating St Mel’s 22-0, Panania PS 16-8 and defending champions Hammondville 24-16.
The day started with a bang as Elizabeth asserted her dominance with a thunderous tackle on an opposition girl from St Mels. Alexis, Marwa, Nazanin scored a try each, with Elizabeth crossing the line twice as well as kicking a goal.
Their next match was a much tighter affair, with Panania having some very good runners of the ball but Lidcombe showed some outstanding defence. Marwa and Nazanin both crossed the try line for Lidcombe, along with Elizabeth who made her third and fourth tries for the day.
Coached by Miss Davies and cheered on by a group of enthusiastic parents, the team’s defence remained strong in the final game of the day, including a come-from-behind tackle by Romane. Marwa made her third try for the day, with both Elizabeth and Nazanin adding two tries each to the scoreline. Ata and Elizabeth also each kicked a goal.
Lidcombe is also representing the Bulldogs in the next round of competition at Mt Druitt.
