This exquisite event will see mocktails on arrival, a traditional high tea served and the unique experience of creating a bouquet of your favourite blooms … ensuring every guest leaves with a full heart.
CEO Clare Pearson said Little Wings proudly assisted many women, including the mothers and grandmothers who were supporting their seriously ill children through some of the darkest and most challenging times of their lives.
“This event is to celebrate and raise funds to keep Little Wings in the air,” Clare said. “All ticket sales will be donated to funding missions and we thank Bankstown Sports Club for sponsoring this special mother’s day and being such an important part of the Little Wings journey.”
Some of the families assisted include Jesse, 9, from Tamworth, who has been flying with Little Wings for six years to get treatment for Cystic Fibrosis.
Elena, 3, lives nine hours from the Sydney Children’s Hospital on the outskirts of Grafton. She suffered serious burns to her arm and hands, requiring weekly visits to the hospital’s burns unit.
Elena’s mum Ayarna said: “When the accident happened, we did over 80km in a week to and from our local hospital; the thought of driving to Sydney weekly was just overwhelming but then Little Wings picked us up and carried us seamlessly every week for two months. Thank you.”
‘Let Her Bloom’ is on this Saturday, May 11, 2-4.30pm, at 21 Avro Street, Bankstown Aerodrome, with tickets $110 each.
