Thanks to the success of their annual sports lunch fundraiser at East Hills Hotel, players aged from four to open age level, will again enjoy having to pay no fees – one of the few club’s in the district offering such a bonus.
Club President Rowan Brown said the lunch included entertainment along with guest speakers – former Australian cricketer Damien Fleming, Dragons star Kyle Flanagan and Fox Sports funnyman Andrew ‘Barney’ Barnett.
“It was also wonderful to have three of our founding players from 1951 in attendance, brothers Mick, Terry and Craig Rae,” Brown said.
“We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors and to the amazing guest speakers who gave us a laugh and were very inspiring.
“It’s events like these which keep our players on the field, especially our gold and silver A grade teams since their insurance costs are significant, along with families who might have a few kids playing; it’s always our intention to keep everything as affordable as possible.”
