Leave a neighbour’s calling card to reduce isolation risk

PARRAMATTA Council has launched a ‘Help a Neighbour’ initiative to support residents who need a hand during lockdown.
Adapted from a Red Cross program, people will now be able to check in on their neighbours who may be isolated by leaving a calling card in their letterbox.
“While the lockdown is necessary, it means many in our community are isolated,” Parramatta Mayor Bob Dwyer said.
“We’re inviting residents to leave a Help a Neighbour card and offer a helping hand.
“This could be by doing tasks they may be unable to do, such as picking up groceries and medical supplies, watering the garden or just a friendly chat over the phone.”
