Family friendly local club Lidcombe Waratah FC is inviting those keen to give it a go and players all ages and every background to register now for the upcoming winter season.
Registrar and board member Dimitri Chiras says the club will be fielding both mens and womens teams as well as girls and boys teams from Under 6 to Under 18.
“Our teams have players from many different backgrounds and it doesn’t really matter where you come from as long as you are prepared to give it a go on the field,” he said.
“Soccer teaches kids skills such as teamwork, perseverance and decision making, that they’ll be able to apply to all aspects of their life.
“It also helps them learn to weather the ups and downs of life, anticipate opportunities and how to work with their peers to solve problems.”
The Waratahs are affiliated with the Granville & Districts Soccer Football Association (GDSFA), Football NSW and Football Federation Australia.
“As a club we are committed to develop and promote football/soccer,” Club President Lee Rennie said.
“We offer opportunities for all players, irrelevant of their skill and ability levels to enjoy their football in a fun, family environment with our home ground Coleman Park which is located between Nottinghill Road and Georges Avenue, Lidcombe.”
Parents can use the NSW Government’s ‘Active Kids’ $100 voucher to pay the club’s registration fees, family discounts are available and there are no weekly fees after you register.
