She will be presenting a webinar talk, ‘Seed Cycle – Closed Loop Gardening’ webinar on Monday, February 27, 7-8pm, in partnership with Cumberland Council.
You will learn how to grow your own crops at home beginning with seed germination, pollination and propagation.
“Many people don’t even know how to point out the seed on a plant so we’ll be covering that as well as the benefit of growing from seed which results in more robust, healthier plants and helps support local wildlife plus it’s a great way to save money,” she said.
“We’ve all heard stories from people saying I put some seeds in but nothing came up; this is more likely because they haven’t known if the seed first needs soaking or extra warmth.
“So we will be looking at what seeds are best to get you started.
“When you have success, it’s almost like a miracle because most plants produce hundreds of seeds which you can then share with your community and vice versa.”
At the moment, Teresa is seeding coriander, carrot, silver beet and parsley which she will raise as plants herself as well as passing the seeds onto others before the cycle starts all over again.
