This followed team LaSalle 2 playing Marist Catholic College Penshurt and team LaSalle 1 playing Aquinas Menai in the finals with both LaSalle teams winning convincingly.
LaSalle 2 won the grand final and teacher and coach Anthony Clarke said it was only their second year of competing in the All Abilities Sports competition.
“The students really enjoyed it and it follows the college introducing special olympic sports such as Goalball (where you play blindfolded with a ball with bells inside), Tball and Seated Volleyball,” he said.
“It gives students a chance to represent their school and opens up access to a range of different sports, with a percentage of able bodied students also competing.
“The students are just so happy to be involved and enjoy the fierce but friendly competition; in the finals the other team provided us with oranges at half-time so that also added a nice flavour and we will reciprocate next time.”
