Lap up Champion Milk trophy, gold and silver wins in dairy award show

THE Lidcombe site of leading global dairy producer, Lactalis Australia, has churned out multiple wins in the 2022 DIAA NSW Dairy Product competition as well as in the 2022 Sydney Royal Cheese & Dairy Produce show.

Lactalis Lidcombe won gold medals in the DIAA awards for Ice Break Triple Shot Real Coffee, Pauls Zymil Full Cream Milk and Pauls Farmhouse Gold Full Cream on Top which also took out the trophy for Champion White Milk and Champion Milk, cementing its status as an icon of Australian milk.
They also won 13 silver medals in this competition and scooped up a further five silver and six bronze in the Sydney Royal Cheese & Dairy Produce Show.
Lactalis Australia Lidcombe site manager Dave Cheney says the Lidcombe site has proudly been a part of the local community for over 60 years, producing iconic Australian dairy products such as Pauls Milk.
“We’re thrilled that so many of our products have been recognised with trophy, gold and silver awards,” he said.
“It truly demonstrates the passion our people have for creating the finest dairy goods.”
Also bagging three silver and four bronze wins in the 2022 Sydney Royal Cheese & Dairy Produce Show, Bekaa Dairies at Clyde scored for their rice pudding, labneh, shanklish and yoghurt.
Auburn’s Chedid family which has been operating from their Clyde wholesale base for 14 years and comprising Katie and George, along with sons Jamie and Jason, produce a range of delectable sweet and savoury products.
Katie says there is no secret to their success which comes from using only pure, natural ingredients; a practice originating in Lebanon many years ago.
“We make all of our products as if we’re making them for the family and you know when you do that, you don’t add thickeners or preservatives,” she said.
