Canterbury City Community Centre will be holding the survey on October 17 and 18, with students from the Community Services Section at Bankstown TAFE.
The students will be conducting the survey as part of their Diploma of Community Services Course to get hands on experience working in the community. They will be asking residents what they like about living in the area and the changes they would like to see.
The results of the survey will be used to help Canterbury City Community Centre and other services plan and run activities in the area.
The survey is confidential and anonymous and residents will be able to identify the students from their identity badges.
“We are hoping to interview as many residents as we can and with the students speaking 9 different languages between them, we hope that we will have most of the different language groups in the area covered,” said Kate Maclean Manager Community Programs at the Community Centre.
“Everyone who fills in the survey will also be invited to a community lunch and forum in February 2024 to learn the results from the survey.
“This is a great opportunity to have your say about what happens in Lakemba”, said local resident Aniceta Weintz
