Knit up way to help sick

HAPPY to tie themselves in knots, an informal group of knitters are one of the many informal groups to use the Berala Community Centre each week.

Known as the ‘Nick Nack Knitters’, members of the group (pictured) usually work on their own projects but also occasionally items such as trauma teddies and bed socks for donation.

Donations of yarn and needles are welcome, as are new knitters of all skill levels.
The Nick Nack Knitters meet at Berala Community Centre Fridays, 11.30am-3pm. Details: 9735 1335. A knitting group also meets at Merrylands Library on Saturdays, 1-3pm. Details: 8757 9065.
