The Sturt Avenue property is the same one where 29-year-old Hamad Assaad – known to police “in regards to organised crime” – was shot dead in the driveway more than seven years ago.
Police said the men forced their way into a granny flat at the rear of the home and confronted the occupant, a 35-year-old man, before assaulting him and ransacking the home.
The man was taken to hospital in a serious condition and detectives are investigating.
