Kickin’ Inn Kween for Mardi Gras

LICKING her chops in anticipation, social media sensation Carla From Bankstown has been crowned Kickin’Inn’s Kween of Mardi Gras after joining forces with the Bankstown RSL food eatery team who are gearing up for a three-day festival to mark the annual event this week.

“When the gronks at Kickin’Inn called me to ask if I wanted to be their kween, I was like, are you bloody serious?” Carla said.
“I told them to stop asking stupid questions and just give me the bloody crown already!”
On offer from this Friday to Sunday, March 4-6, Kickin’In will be decked out in rainbow streamers, flags and balloons.
Diners at pre-booked tables will receive a free glass of rosé with their meal and $1 from every sale of Kickin’Inn’s signature shrimp martini – iconically served in an oversized cocktail glass that looks like it could’ve been a prop in ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’ – will be donated to Carla’s LGBTIQA+ charity of choice, Twenty10.
“The only people that work harder than me are the legends at Twenty10,” she said.
“They provide support services and counselling for young people aged 12-25 who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender diverse, non-binary, intersex, questioning, queer, asexual and more.
“So c’mon all you gronks, just buy a Kickin’Inn shrimp martini and help ‘em out.
“This year was already gonna be massive, what with the upcoming TV gig and Gladys begging me to be her new executive assistant at the phone company but this is the tastiest job yet,” Carla added.
