‘Kick On For Women’ starts soon

WOMEN aged 16 and over who are thinking about taking up a sport to keep the winter blues and weight gain at bay, an eight-week soccer skills program is getting underway at Jim Ring Reserve, Birrong, at the end of this month.

Hosted by Birrong Sports Football Club, in conjunction with the Bankstown District Amateur Football Association (BDAFA), the ‘Kick On For Women’ program is an introductory initiative focusing on fun, football and friendship that offers a more social and accessible version of the game.
Birrong Sports FC President Tyrone Wait says the low-impact program provides physical and mental health benefits alongside the benefits of engaging in team sport.
“The 45-minute sessions on Wednesdays, 7-7.45pm, will teach participants the basic competencies of football in a relaxed, non-competitive environment,” he said.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for females to learn a few basic skills and increase confidence and fitness, with team places available at our club if you’re keen to get a taste of competition.”
Free to attend, the program gets underway on Wednesday, May 29, with registrations open now at: https://bit.ly/4aR32il or for further info, call Tanya on 0481 773 392.
