Keira gears up for gold again

A LONGTIME member of Lidcombe Auburn Cycling Club (LACC), Keira Will, 17, has been selected in the Australian team for both Road Cycling and Track Cycling at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago taking place from August 4.

She has also been selected for the Australian team for the World Junior Track Championships in Cali, Colombia from August 23.
At the Track Oceania Championships in March, she raced in the Australian team, winning gold and setting a new Australian record in the Team Pursuit.
She is presently in Europe racing for a Dutch team and will then join the Australian team in Belgium in July.
Still in Year 12 doing her HSC, Keira transferred to an online school this year so that she could be in Europe and still do her HSC.
After joining the LACC as a four-year-old, she has trained at Lidcombe Oval for many years during the week and then racing on Friday nights.
Keira said she was thrilled to be selected to race for Australia.
“It’s been a lifelong dream. Can’t wait to see how I go internationally,” she said.
Mum Shiona said: “Keira trains really hard and has done for years. I’m so glad that all her hard work has paid off with being selected to these teams and we’re so proud of her.”
