Pharmacist Sev Ince, pictured with business support officer Sarah Lamour, said: “Vaccination plays a pivotal role in the protection of vulnerable members of our society such as babies, pregnant women, and those with low immunity.”
“If we don’t catch influenza, we cannot spread the infection.”
The vaccine was made available to all staff at several locations to make it convenient and easy to drop in.
Mayor Steve Christou said council provided free vaccinations to improve health and wellbeing and reduce sick leave.
“Vaccinations not only protect staff, but their families and people in the community they come into contact with – it’s a win-win.”
Keeping the community safe
MORE than 200 Cumberland City Council staff have received the flu vaccine over the past few weeks.
