Keep good eye on child vision to boost learning

PROBLEMS with children’s eyes can easily go undetected and unnoticed by both the child and parent for many years.

Although severe eye defects are rare, even small problems can impede their development, education and even personal safety.
Chester Hill Optical was established over 40 years ago by Optometrist John Millgate, father of present owner Karen Millgate.
“I worked with Dad and studied the Optical Dispensing course at TAFE,” she said.
“I have carried on the business since then with the help of our two Optometrists, Galina Liu and Peter Pavlatos, and feel truly blessed to have worked with them for so long.
“We pride ourselves on our caring attitude towards our patients and the quality of the spectacles we provide.”
With prices to suit all budgets and participating in the Vision Australia program, the team is especially attentive to children.
“Many have undergone a large amount of online school work over the last couple of years and are really feeling this pressure visually,” Karen said.
“It’s also a good idea to take your child to see an optometrist before they start school and every two years after that.
“This helps to make sure your child’s eyes are developing properly, even if you aren’t concerned about your child’s vision.”
Chester Hill Optical is at 129 Waldron Rd, Chester Hill.
