LACC junior coordinator Pierre Dubier said their Under 15 Mens team comprising Liam Goltman, Patrick Maye and Rab Drummond plus female rider Anna Dubier (pictured), won two gold medals.
He said in the team pursuit, a 2km race where members of the team each took turns on the front to pull the fastest time, the four youngsters averaged over 48km/h in the race to claim the gold.
“They backed this up in the team sprint, where over a three lap race, they averaged over 53km/h,” he said.
“These young riders worked well as a team and have trained incredibly hard especially over these uncertain times due to Covid.”
He said the LACC riders would soon be back in action for the individual State Championships this weekend before progressing onto the nationals.
Young riders interested in trying cycling either recreationally, where they can learn valuable skills or in a competitive environment, can contact the club via email to juniors@lacc.org.au or visit lacc.org.au.
