Junior club champs for a third year

ST CHRISTOPHER’S Cricket Club won the Junior Club Championship for the third consecutive year at the Bankstown District Cricket Association annual presentation night.

The association celebrated another year with its presentation night at Bankstown Sports Club last Monday.

It was a a big season for St Christopher’s who also picked up the Under 12, Under 13, Under 15 and C Grade premierships.

Panania East Hills RSL won the Senior Club Championship.

There were also a number of individual awards for impressive performances throughout the season.

A spokesperson for the association said the introduction this season of the new Junior Blaster and Master Blaster programs for the 5 to 9-year-olds, proved to be a fantastic way for the kids to learn and develop their skills in a fun-filled and positive environment. Junior Blasters only takes an hour each Saturday morning.

The T20-style matches for the Under 10s and Under 11s, is based on shorter game formats, modified rules and gives boys and girls an opportunity for greater involvement in the game – everyone bats and bowls.

He says the changes introduced by Cricket Australia, really give kids the opportunity to develop their skills and enhances their cricket participation and enjoyment. Why not give cricket a try next season?
