Junior Bulldog girls win State selection

EAST Hills Junior Rugby League players Charlize Parker and Khiarna Munro have been selected in the Under 12s and under 15s to represent NSW in Oztag at the State of Origin Oztag Championship in September.

Khiarna will be playing her third season of league tag with East Hills Bulldogs this season and was first selected as a 12-year-old playing in the Under 15s.
This year’s selection follows last season when she scored a massive 43 tries during the year in the Under 14s.
She is expected to be a key figure chasing this year’s championship win.
Charlize also will be playing her third season in the under 12s in which she will still qualify to play another season.
Club vice-president Mary Waring said Charlize had always been a standout, even when she was only nine and playing against 12-year-olds.
He said she would be a leading player for her side this year as they also push for a premiership.
“We are very proud of our players’ achievements and wish them both successful tournaments,” he said.
“The club prides itself on female participation with specially designed shorts and female-fitting jerseys, and we have grown from one female side to six in four seasons; we now have all female sides in league tag in 10s, two in 12s, 14s, 16s and opens,” he said.
