Julia celebrates 100th milestone

SURROUNDED by her loving children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends, Belmore’s Julia Saba celebrated her 100th birthday.
Canterbury MP Sophie Cotsis also attended the celebration, presenting the centenarian with a congratulatory certificate from the NSW Parliament and certificates from the Prime Minister, the Governor General and the Queen.
Mrs Saba, who was born on January 6, 1920, arrived with her husband in Australia in 1954 from Lebanon.
They lived in Marrickville before moving to Belfield.
“I wish Mrs Saba good health and happiness for many more years to come,” Ms Cotsis said.
“I am honoured to have been part of her birthday celebrations with her friends and family.
“Mrs Saba and her family have contributed enormously in building our nation and we thank her for hard work.”
Also present was Father Andrew Benton from St Michael’s Catholic Church Belfield.
