JOY Jarman got an unexpected surprise when Mayor Bilal-El Hayek popped in to wish her a Happy 100th Birthday.
Born on April 25, 1924, Ms Jarman celebrated with family and friends at her retirement village ahead of her birthday which fell on ANZAC Day.
The Ashbury local said she wished she could have enjoyed the special day with her late husband.
“He was a great man, I wish he was here to celebrate with me,” she said.
“His father actually built our home in Ashbury 100 years ago. We moved in around the 1970s after his parents passed.”
