Join vibrant club not even covid could tarnish

EVEN during the lockdowns when they couldn’t meet face to face, the Georges Hall Probus Club committee kept in weekly phone contact with all of its 80 members, sent out hand-made birthday cards and encouraged all to contribute to a regular online newsletter with jokes, recipes, childhood stories and life musings.

Now back to regularly meeting on the fourth Wednesday of the month at Club Condell Park, secretary Sue Brown says reaching out and maintaining contact during Covid is what has kept membership high but they are always on the lookout for more.
“I joined the group about five years ago after my husband died,” Sue said.
“Someone suggested joining Georges Hall Probus since they were so welcoming and I have made some wonderful friends.
“It gives me real purpose as there is always something going on; we have a coffee club, movie club and trips away.
“We’ve got a rivercat cruise to Parramatta coming up, a five-day trip to Tamworth in May and a five-day trip to Griffith in October plus we’re planning a trip to Kemps Creek soon to the ‘Experience Centre’ at the new international airport.”
Open to men and women of all ages, the club is ideal for enjoying the fellowship of like-minded people and getting to know other active retirees in the local community.
You can also take advantage of exclusive deals through the Probus Member Benefits Scheme which features special offers from Probus Partners.
