Join Star Jump Challenge for youth

DO you want to get fit, have fun and help a great cause at the same time?

A team from Bankstown PCYC is reaching new heights during Youth Week, April 16-24, by taking part in the Star Jump Challenge with a goal to raise $10,000 to help boost mental health and they need your help.
Calling on sponsors as well as others keen to take part in the Star Jump Challenge, Bankstown PCYC Manager David Adams said the money raised would be for a mental health fitness program called GRIT (Growth-mindset Resilience Intervention for Teenagers).
“It’s an early intervention and prevention program set to be piloted in terms three and four in up to 12 metropolitan, regional and rural locations around NSW, targeting those aged 12 to 14 years and 15 to 18 years,” he said.
“It will be delivered in conjunction with, and will complement, other PCYC programs in the areas of education, employment, mentoring, physical fitness and nutrition.
“We chose star jumps because they are part of our PCYC heritage. The Federation or Commonwealth Star features our core values of Integrity, Citizenship, Commitment, Respect and Resilience, with star jumps being fun for people to do of all ages and abilities.”
