The store – part of the centre’s new fresh food precinct, The Grand Market, also officially opened today – has been tailored to meet the needs of the diverse customer base, with a dedicated aisle of Middle Eastern products and a large Asian range to serve to the local community.
The Grand Market will also deliver a new, vibrant and modern fresh food precinct, including a wide selection of specialty food retailers.
Bankstown Store Manager Eliaz Housil said he was delighted to bring a new shopping experience to the Bankstown community, but it’s the new jobs that accompany the store opening that they are most excited about.
“Our store team can’t wait to serve the Bankstown community,” he said.
“We’re proud to have 118 team members starting at Coles for the first time, working alongside 37 experienced team members transferring from other Coles stores so that they can work closer to home.”
