Jets dig deep to force draw at play end

NEWTOWN drew 20-all with the New Zealand Warriors in the 12th Round Canterbury Cup NSW match played at Henson Park on Saturday afternoon.
It was an entertaining spectacle with the Warriors fielding no fewer than nine players with NRL experience.
The young Jets team had the better of the first half, and dug deep to force a draw in the game’s last minutes.
Coach Greg Matterson was disappointed with the final outcome, saying that there had been missed opportunities in the first half and that the Jets probably should have led by more at halftime.
The Jets are back home at Henson Park this Saturday, June 8, against the Wentworthville Magpies with kick-off at 3pm.
