Jax marking arrival with school support

BUSINESSMAN Nick van Dam (pictured), owner of Jax Tyres Marrickville, is marking the recent relocation of his tyre and automotive store by giving back to the community through team support opportunities and sponsoring local schools.

As part of Nick’s school sponsorship goals, JAX Tyres Marrickville donated $500 in tyre and automotive services at a recent family fundraiser trivia night at Wilkins Public School as well as a further $500 donation for children with autism as Aspect Marrickville (in the grounds of Marrickville Public).
One of a number of JAX Tyres franchisees across Australia dedicated to supporting and giving back to those in need, Nick goes above and beyond for his team.
“I have recently sponsored one of my mechanics after recognising his potential when he moved to Australia from the Czech Republic,” Nick explained.
“He is a great worker and a great guy so I thought I would do what I could to help him with his stay and I’m so glad I did.
“My team reflects one of NSW’s most culturally diverse neighbourhoods and is passionate about sharing our 100 years’ combined industry experience with automotive talent and the community.”
Nick says he believes that local businesses doing their bit to help the community not only makes good business sense, it strengthens positive ties to the neighbourhood as well.
“Since we made the move from Waterloo to 24-28 Smith Street, Marrickville, about three months ago, we haven’t looked back; it’s great to be part of this community and give back where we can,” he added.
