
She won the KPO Players’ Award which is voted on by members of the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra to be the best performer in rehearsals and features a cash prize of $500 as well as winning the Barbara Robinson (competition founder) Award of $1,000 and a trophy based on her performance on the night.
Internationally recognised, Jade has performed at the New York Carnegie Hall and Rome.
Excited by the wins, she says performing in the competition stands as an invaluable opportunity for musicians to perform as soloists accompanied by an orchestra.
“It has always been a dream of mine, since taking up the Trumpet and Oboe aged three,” she said.
“The richness of the harmonies, blending of tone qualities, and the swell of the fullness of the orchestra is other-worldly and a memory to treasure.”
For the competition, she performed the Arutjunjan Trumpet Concerto, composed by Alexander Arutjunjan in 1950.
